Need Buying Advice: 1/4 Eagle

I am not a numis guy but I do like to study older coins. Don't have to own them, just like looking at them (ok, prefer to own them).

Anyway, I've been wanting a 1/4 or 1/2 Eagle Indian.

What would be the most economical way to buy them? Online? Or, I have a local coin show in a month, can you usually pick them up somewhat cheaper there.
Local isn't usually good, I have to pay sales tax, but not at coin shows.

Wait for History Student's advice. He knows circulated gold coins inside and out. :ok:

either buy them graded already so you know that they are authentic and uncleaned...or just get one cleaned and pay a lower price.
